BlackArch Vs Kali Linux
I can't say I've actually used Blackarch in a real scenario. I've been wanting to have a play. It kind worries me that it's an arch base. I did a year of penetration testing and the last thing you need at the start of the day is a borked Linux build, it's kinda why I stick to Debian.
All of the things: DemmSec
How was it ? in term of the performance ? would you say it's a bit faster than Kali ? coz it's Lightweight OS, isn't it ? or no difference ? it's just depend on our machine or net speed ? or the tools itself.
Been wondering for other Pent Test OS out there beside Kali. but seems like Kali is still the best.
ALWAYS A CATCH!
mate. don't bother. I tried the Blackarch.
too much hassle. I personally dislike it. not really user desktop friendly. taking too much time doing everything manually.
and the display is terrible. red and black. my eyes hurt.
Logged in and straight away dislike it. but yes it runs faster than Kali.
ALWAYS A CATCH!
Give a try to ArchStrike, try it on a vm just to see if suits to you.
In my case I hate kali (sorry) so buggy and out of date tools which they don't upgrade it in their repo list.
If you are advanced linux user then Arch based distro is the right choice, but , you will need to spent enough time for their setup , both BlackArch and ArchStrike.
Keep in mind that by default Archstrike has not a Desktop environment and its CLI based. I personally advice you to have a look on their repo list on both distros they have amazing tools which of course can be used to any linux enviroment.
If you want a user friendly pentest distro then my opinion is ParrotOS , much faster, stable and updated tools compare to kali.
For wifi pentest i would agree with Demmsec and my vote goes to Weakearthan.
Dont consider tools as a parameter on which distro you will use. You will not use not even the half tools included in kali or parrot
